Normally not too active in the early mornings, these Komodo Dragons were up and about, and we actually watched them getting up on their hind legs and fight each other. Wild! This was on Komodo Island itself, but we also saw them on Rinja, patrolling the beach in search for something eatable.

Lots of Mantas in the south of the park. This trip they came in all sizes – big, medium and small, some of them all black. As usual, most of the action was at the cleaning stations.

We were at least as lucky with the smaller creatures; Coleman Shrimps, Zebra Crabs, Thorny Seahorses, Flying Gurnards and the super-rare White V Octopus were only some of our sightings.

Through in a whole bunch of Sharks, some Giant Frogfish, huge Green Turtles and graceful Eagle Rays, and it’s quite clear this was a memorable safari!
